Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

Kurunjang Secondary College is proud to announce we are implementing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program for our 2020 Year 7 cohort.

In a world of ever-increasing technological use, our school is striving to equip students with the tools, knowledge and skills to take in their careers and futures. Students will be able to engage with their schooling more than ever with use of digital tools such Microsoft Office 365.

Students enrolling into Year 7 for 2020 will be required to purchase a Windows-based tablet for use in all of their classrooms. To ensure that students receive the optimal use out

of their device we have the following requirements, as well as some recommendations.

(Not Atom/Celeron or equivalent)

4Gb RAM or greater 64Gb Storage or greater

Keyboard – either attachable, Bluetooth or built into a case

Cover /Slip / Bag



Stylus / Pen Protective Case


The recommended device for our Year 7 2020 BYOD Program is:


  • Microsoft Surface Go 64GB – RRP $599


It is not a requirement to choose the Microsoft Surface Go but the tablet does need to meet the requirements listed in the table above.

Please note – this is not a laptop program nor are students allowed to bring netbooks.


Kurunjang Secondary College has partnered with JB Hi-Fi to create an educational offer for these tablets at a discounted price. There will also be the ability to purchase recommended and optional extras such as:


  • Keyboard Pen / Stylus
  • Insurance Extended Warranty
  • Finance
